

The objective of this class is to introduce students to the many facets of sound and audio technology in the live and recording arts. Students will learn the characteristics, similarities, and differences between acoustic, analog, and digital environments. They will learn about recording and live-sound concepts, techniques, and vocabulary through lectures, labs, projects, and audio demonstrations. They will learn how to use GarageBand, Reason, and ProTools First. Students will also have the opportunity to record original individual work and collaborative projects including: loop-based, podcast, foley, mixing, MIDI, MIDI with recorded audio, and more.
