In this class, students will learn how to play jazz.  They will perform in a large contemporary jazz ensemble.  They will learn the differences in style, rhythm, articulations, etc. between classical and jazz playing.   Students will become familiar with contemporary styles such as swing, rock, funk, Latin, and others.  The ensemble will perform on campus in the Benvenuti Performing Arts Center, as well as participating in music festivals.
