The NCS Percussion Ensemble has played at the CSU Sacramento Day of Percussion, California Arts Day, Disneyland, Sacramento Kings NBA Game, Central California Day of Percussion, California Charter Schools Association Convention, the Benvenuti Performing and fine Arts Center, Duck Pluck, and various elementary schools in the Natomas area.
Students who have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of percussion and rhythm are encouraged to audition. If accepted, they will have the opportunity to play in small and large ensembles on a long list of percussion instruments. They will perform at various times throughout the course of the year on and off campus. Students will also learn and perform solos for in-class performances and/or recital. They will finish with a firm grasp of reading music for percussion and playing in an advanced ensemble. Rehearsals are conducted in a professional manner, where students are expected to learn parts at home and spend class time on blend, balance, rehearsal techniques and performance quality.
